Due
to
the

at

Tonomat

restrictions

Geoffrey
Norman
Ditchburn
had
discussions
with
Tonomat
in
Germany,
part
of
the
post
war
agreement
was
that
trade
between
Germany
was
encouraged
to
allow
the
rebuilding
of
the
German
economy
and
infrastructure,
in
exchange
British
industries
had
access
to
German
patents
and
inventions
to
use
in
our
own
industry,
and
manufacturing.
Tonomat
produced
some
of
the
most
well
engineered
Jukeboxes
ever
made,
they
certainly
did
not
copy
the
design
of
the
USA
manufacturers
and
were engineered by ex-telecommunications engineers, that used many telephone exchange components in their design.
Due
By
1962
the
restrictions
on
importation
of
Jukeboxes
from
the
USA
had
been
lifted
Ditchburn
became
the
UK
official
distributor
of
Wurlitzer
USA
Jukeboxes,
they
imported
8
machines
every
month
from
the
USA
which
continued
until
